Pierre Morier

Inspired by my passion for bushcraft, survival and outdoor activities, I'm using my free time to make knives with my heart and soul since the summer of 2018. It is particularly important to me, that the knives are functional, beautiful, fit perfectly in the hand and meet all requirements of my customers.

After working as a car mechanic, ships mechanic and as a sailor on lake Zürich, in 2018, I finished my studies in industrial engineering and management and since then, I'm working as a product manager.

To produce and sell products I personally love has been a dream since I finished my apprenticeship as a car mechanic. To run a small knifemaking business like this, is the perfect chance to gather some experience.

I am open for any ideas, suggestions, new projects, constructive criticism and friendly, honest discussions about requirements, quality, bushcraft topics and of course, knives.

Suppliers and material

Since there are no big suppliers for knife making material in Switzerland, my main suppliers are situated in Germany.

Steels:

  • 80CrV2 (1.2235) carbon steel
  • 440B (1.4112) stainless steel
  • RWL34 (damasteel) stainless steel

The used steels on my knives are delivered by the supplier of good reputation:

Be aware of:
Carbon steels are NOT stainless. Without proper care your knife will stain quickly. Also they can form a patina, which means the blades colour could change.

The handle material

The used handle material mainly comes from the same supplier as my steel:

Be aware of:

I won't use any materials like mammoth tooth, real elefant ivory or illegaly purchased goods.

Disposables

The used disposables are bought from local hardware stores.
